Blog EntryTEAM Building - empowering Ministry HeadsSep 21, '07 5:45 AM
for everyone
Just attended an empowering event, Team Building for Ministry Leaders. This is the first time that this kind of activity was organized in Ortigas, and I’m thankful that I’m part of it. Allow me to say that it was such a fruitful day for all of us. Not only that we were able to get to know more about the people whom we only know by face, we also learned a lot from the activities conducted.
The activities let out the character that each of us really posses and the ideas that we can come up with. There is also an activity that measures how far we can achieve and accomplish with the involvement of different kinds of personalities.
Also, we had a time to share our expectations to better serve the ministry, the people & ultimately God. Which is one of the best part of the Team Building, because being on the fore-front of the ministry we know what the team/ministry needs so that all members can better participate/involve.
Though the event was running under time pressure (because it was a one day event only), it was a good start. And with all the ideas being let out by the brains of the people involve, I believe there will be another team building. So that the suggestions/ideas will be effectively applied within each of the ministries.
To the organizers, thank you that you have considered this kind of activity. These will really help everyone to effectively do their task in the ministry that they are in. We know that you always see our efforts and thank you for this kind of enhancement program.
Looking forward for the next installment...

Blog Entry"Toad or Prince"Jun 4, '07 8:51 AM
for everyone

It's been a week since our Single Women's Retreat and still the lecture & discussion is still on my mind. Especially the topic "Toad or Prince?". The question raised was "How will you know if a man is a Toad or a Prince?". Sad to say that the world we live in today is full of "Toads". Meaning, full of men who are Disgusting, Offensive, Annoying, Disagreeable, Repulsive, Irritating and to top it all, Unpleasant!. This "Toads" can be seen anywhere and at anytime.

But I do believe that despite the fact that most men (if not all) are toads (and others are woman by heart), there are still some who are man enough to be the prince that are created to be. Who can leave watching NBA or PBA games to be a "prince" to someone or something like that.

It's just a matter of knowing what we really want in a man for us to find the rightful prince. As for me I will not settle for anything less than what God has prepared for me. And I know that what God has prepared is far more better than what I desire or ask. And I know deep in my heart that God will give me a "prince" because i'm too precious a princess to be given a "toad".

How about you? "toad or prince?"

---"Someday my prince will come....."---- it's a song from one of Disney's Fairy tale movies.

Thanks to the speakers who encouraged us and made clear what our standing, as a woman, is in this world. That we are such a precious creation of God (a princess) and we deserve the best that God will have to offer.

A 1-day tour around Taipei City during my 8-day work related trip to Taiwan. Happy viewing....

Blog EntryTo A Foreign Land (Taipei)May 5, '07 7:38 AM
for everyone

Got my first out-of-the-country assignment. Landed here in  Taipei yesterday for an 8-day visit (more of work). It was my first time to travel abroad and i'm all alone . Problem with first time travellers (at least for me), is that there are things you are not aware of. Like it's not allowed to "hand-carry" liquid of any form, moisturizers... just when I checked-in my luggage and right after the immigration "check-point" when i had my last bag & body scan. The one who's monitoring the scanner asked me to have my hand-carry bag be checked, and I just felt sorry for myself when they confiscated my newly-bought mouthwash and Elizabeth Arden Green Tea hand moisturizer (it's my thing to have a hand moisturizer in my purse). It means that I need to buy a new one (at least the mouthwash) and deduct it from my allowance, on which i'm planning to save to buy some stuff (hehehehe). Anyway, got my "first-time-traveller" experience.

Though this is my first time to travel abroad, this is not my first time to board a plane. What I love about getting on the plane to get to my destination is that you get to be "side-by-side" with the  clouds. It's just so peaceful seeing those white clouds, you want to rest your head on them (like a very soft pillow).  And just seeing those clouds gave me a glimpse of how peaceful heaven is.

And when we got out of the plane someone from the labor (dept.?), who is a filipino, greeted us with sarcasm. I mean "us" because on-board with me were a group of filipino contract workers. Since, again it's my first time, when the pinoy asked all the Filipino who just arrived to fall in-line & put on the sticker that has says "Overseas Contract Worker..." I also did. Good thing I boldly approach him & asked him the way to the car rental (because i already had a transpo that's pre-arranged by the company), he then knew that i'm not a contract worker & told me to just go ahead so as not to waste my time.

It's my second day in Taipei and I don't know how to speak Mandarin. Good thing, two of my officemates in Manila are also here. At least i'm not alone exploring the city. Will have my tour this evening and our first stop, the Night Market, heheheehhe. til then... God Bless
